UPCOMING COMING EVENTS!

NEADTA Community Retreat Day

We are delighted that you are interested in joining us virtually for our NEADTA Community Retreat Day. The theme for our restorative offering is “Hello NEADTA: Reconnecting across our Lands, Community and Stories” which is scheduled for Sunday September 19th 2021 via Zoom from 10:00AM – 1:00PM. We will be joined by NEADTA Guest Facilitators Sadada Jackson and Krystal Garcia.

A Note from the NEADTA Planning Committee…

As we continue to navigate the ongoing safety concerns related to COVID-19 and the ongoing Pandemic, the Committee decided to facilitate this community-focused restorative offering through our virtual platform to center accessibility and safety. We are hopeful for a time where we will be able to gather in-person in the near future, but until then, we look forward to being in community with you soon.

WHAT IS THE 2021 NEADTA COMMUNITY RETREAT DAY?!?

The New England Chapter of the American Dance Therapy Association’s (NEADTA) membership spans FIVE states and beyond. How can we continue to connect with each other and for each other across these lands? The NEADTA is delighted to invite you to join us virtually for our first ever 2021 NEADTA Community Retreat Day offering for our amazing DMT community. The theme for this restorative community offering is

“Hello NEADTA: Reconnecting across our Lands, Community and Stories”

which is scheduled for Sunday September 19th 2021 via Zoom from 10:00AM – 1:00PM EST.

We will be joined by NEADTA Guest Facilitators
Sadada Jackson and Krystal Garcia.

Our wonderful Guest Facilitators have requested that we invite our community in attendance to bring with them/have access to items/artifacts that reminds attendees of  the following guiding prompts:

Something that reminds you of water and your relationship to it

Something from the land that surrounds you

Something that represents your ancestors

Please join us for this unique opportunity to come together in community for a (virtual) retreat-style gathering to re/connect to our fellow chapter members along with the wider DMT community during this half day gathering that will explore embodied honoring of the lands we inhabit, the diverse locations we occupy, and our shared community and stories.

We would like to respectfully acknowledge the history of displacement of people, in many directions; not only in the past, but also presently.

We invite you to reflect on the personhood of the land, how we connect with the land and each other, and the illusions of separation/borders/in minds and hearts as we reflect on what each of us receive from and bring to our community–through our stories, practices, relationships, and beyond.

We hope this day serves to create feelings of restoration and inspiration.
